BUDDHA JAYANTI PARK

 

The Buddha Jayanti Park is situated at the heart of central ridge of Delhi, spread in about 81 acres area. It was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Ex Prime Minister of India, Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri by planting a sapling of “Holy Bodhi tree” on 25th October 1964. This park is incredibly beautiful with a sparkling statue of Buddha. It is home to almost 100 types of trees and 40 shrubs species that generate a vibrant ecosystem.

 

Open garden

The another major attraction of Buddha Jayanti Park is open Garden, which has various features like lush green lawn, topiaries, flowering shrubs, flowering trees, seasonal flowering plants, attractive hedges and edges, etc.

Palm Garden

A pocket in Buddha Jayanti Park is developed as Palm Garden where different varieties of Palm are planted in a systematic manner which gives aesthetic view

Rose garden

The rose garden is developed in Buddha Jayanti Park has almost 25 different varieties of roses. In December-January month this garden is a delight to eyes having colorful roses in full bloom.

Cactus garden

Cactus garden having different varieties of cactus covering around 1.5 acres of land was developed during the year 2012.

Bougainvillea Garden

Bougainvillea garden is spreaded around 8 acres of land in the Buddha Park having about 40 different varieties of this flower. It was developed by CPWD, Horticulture wing during 1984. It provides a treat to flower lovers during month of March-April when the flowers are in full blooms.
