History and Objective of the Project:

  • The overall estimated budget for this project (including the revised PE approval etc.) is 1830 Crores. The project will not only improve the tertiary level health care facilities for the Central Armed Police Forces personnel and their families, but also contribute to an improvement in the other medical facilities available to them by producing doctors, paramedical staff, and nurses fully familiar with their requirements.
  • CAPFIMS Project is a Referral and Research Hospital with Medical Institute, Doctor’s & MBBS Hostel, Nursing and Paramedics Hostel, Dormitory, and residential units with car parking.
  • The idea of CAPFIMS arose in 2013 and former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh laid the foundation stone of CAPFIMS on February 26, 2014. Post which all the required statutory clearances were obtained. The work at the site had commenced in June 2017 (on 33.65 acres).
  • The approval of original sanction of Rs. 1219.21 Crores was received in Oct.’ 2013 and revised sanction of 1735.245 Crores received in Oct. 2022.
  • The total area of plot is 51.4 acres out of which only 33.5 acres has been use for construction purpose and remaining 17.75 acres falls under Geo-Morphological Ridge.
  • The medical institute is built to intake of 100 MBBS students per year. And the nursing college will intake 60 students.
  • The school for paramedics will intake 300 students along with other institutes to address the shortage of nursing and paramedics professionals.

Campus:

  • CAPFIMS is in possession of 51.4 acres of land at Maidangarhi, South Delhi (5km from landmark Chattarpur Temple), New Delhi.
  • CPWD is the project implementing agency and M/S L&T is the construction agency of the said project.
  • Apart from the standard general specialty and super specialty hospital, the project also includes buildings such as multi-level car parking buildings, utility building, barracks building, nurses & paramedics hostel, MBBS hostel, Doctor's hostel buildings, Type-4, 5 & 6 residential buildings, etc.
  • The project also involves a 4 extended basement ramp, which caters to overall 3000 car parking facility at a particular moment.
